“I’m working this Christmas. At the Brewers Fayre in Dagenham as a waitress. I did it last year, and was so sick of Christmas food by the time I got home after my shift I couldn’t face eating my own dinner. After serving over 600 people, I couldn’t be bothered - I ate some of the meat but that was it. I only did a three-hour shift as well.
"The best part of the Brewers Fayre Christmas dinner is the sausages. They use the breakfast sausages, not skinny chipolatas, they’re quite meaty."

Alison Canham, 18, Journalism student, said she once went for a Christmas dinner at Brewers Fayre, where they – controversially – “forgot” to put a Yorkshire pudding on her plate. Upon requesting one, she was given a plate of six! She ate them all “with joy”.

Journalism student, Maddie Baillie, South West London. She revealed that her most controversial Christmas dinner item is sweetcorn, and that: “We also have mashed potatoes with a Christmas dinner… That, mixed with sweetcorn, seals the deal for me.”
She added: “Gravy is a must on a Christmas dinner.”

Shrelina Maratha, 18, a Journalism with Media student from North West London, said that her favourite part of her Christmas dinner is roast potatoes, “drowned in gravy”. When asked if gravy makes or breaks a Christmas dinner, she enthusiastically shared that “it's a deal breaker, having a dry dinner is criminal.”
Q: Should there be Yorkshire Pudding on a Christmas Dinner: I can’t have eggs so I’ve never eaten a Yorkshire pudding. I have extra potatoes – and my family don’t eat them either – out of solidarity.
Emma Beatty, 54, lecturer, shared that after cooking a Christmas dinner for her family of eight, her favourite part is the turkey and cranberry. Mostly due to the fact it can only be enjoyed once a year.
